Three
Card Poker Progressive
Shuffle Master created the 3 Card Poker Progressive
side bet in 2006 and was first approved for select U.S. jurisdictions
in early 2007. Unlike the pair plus bonus bet with a fixed payout,
the $1 progressive side bet gives players the chance to win a much
bigger jackpot.
Three Card Poker Progressive Rules
3 Card Poker Progressive is played exactly like the original Three
Card Poker game except there are three initial betting options:
ante, pair plus and the optional $1 progressive side bet. Receive
a
hand of 3-of-a-kind or better and you win according to the paytable
below.

Notice from the pay table that a Straight Flush and
3-of-a-kind only pays a fixed amount whereas any Ace-King-Queen
combination pays a percentage of the progressive jackpot. If more
than one player wins, the payouts are split equally among the
winners.
Envy Bonus
The Envy Bonus gives you a chance to win even if your hand is not
a 3-of-a-kind or better. If another player at the table (Except
the dealer) plays the progressive wager and gets an Ace-King-Queen
you win the Envy Bonus. You must also wager the $1 progressive
side bet to be eligible for the Envy Bonus.

Alternative Paytables
All casinos are not the same when it comes to paytables. This is
one advantage of playing online, you can easily find more favourable
paytables. Here are a few alternatives along with

The progressive side bet has a huge house advantage thus making
it a bad play. In general, most side bets are known as "sucker
bets".

Progressive Jackpots Explained
A portion of every $1 progressive bet gets added to the jackpot.
Table games with progressive bets have an additional piece
of hardware called a meter that tells the player how big the
jackpot is at any given time. Every hand (As long as there are
players betting the progressive) increases the progressive jackpot.
The amount the house takes from each $1 bet varies from casino
to casino but its usually somewhere between 30 - 50%. When a player
hits the jackpot the house must reseed the meter. This means the
casino adds money to the meter to keep it from starting out at
$0. They do this for obvious reasons, what player would want to
wager $1 if the jackpot is showing $0. For Three Card Poker the
reseed amount is usually $1,000.
